Skrill at Platiin

Skrill

Skrill is an e-wallet built with online payments in mind, and it has long been a familiar sight in casino cashiers. You load the wallet from a card or bank account, pay the casino from the wallet, and receive payouts back into it. That separation is the main appeal: your card or bank details never reach the casino, and gambling transactions show up as wallet transfers rather than individual card payments. The trade-off is that e-wallets are treated with suspicion in many bonus terms. This page covers both sides.

The set of methods and the limits depend on your account — check the cashier.

How Skrill payments work

  1. Open a Skrill account in your own name and verify it with Skrill.
  2. Load the wallet from a card or bank account.
  3. In the casino cashier, choose Skrill, enter the amount and log in to confirm.
  4. For withdrawals, choose Skrill again; once approved, the money lands in the wallet.

Skrill availability depends on your country and on the casino. If it is missing from the cashier, it is not offered for your account.

E-wallets and bonus exclusion lists

Many bonus terms contain a sentence such as "deposits made via the following methods do not qualify", and e-wallets are frequent entries. We cannot tell you whether Skrill is on such a list for a given Platiin offer; the terms of that offer can. What we can show is how the decision changes the numbers (example in euros; the maths is the same in any currency):

AssumptionCard deposit with bonusSkrill deposit, bonus excluded
Deposit€120€120
Bonus (50% match)€60none
Wagering (30x bonus)€1,800none
Withdrawable after verificationafter wagering is completeat any time

Worked example — not a Platiin term.

Losing a bonus is not automatically losing value. If you would not have finished €1,800 of wagering anyway, the excluded deposit leaves you freer. The mechanics are explained in our wagering guide.

Fees: whose are they?

The casino may not charge for a Skrill deposit, but Skrill has its own schedule: fees can apply to loading the wallet, converting currencies, sending money to a bank or keeping an inactive account. Holding the wallet in the same currency as your casino account avoids conversion on both legs. Check the current fees in your Skrill account; they are set by Skrill, not by the casino.

Payouts and the closed loop

If you deposited with Skrill, payouts usually go back to the same wallet. If you deposited by card and want the payout in Skrill, the cashier may first return the deposited amount to the card. Before the first withdrawal, expect a request to prove the wallet is yours, typically a screenshot of the account page showing your name and email.

When Skrill makes sense

Skrill suits players who want to keep gambling payments separate from their main bank account and who do not depend on the bonus. For a bonus, a qualifying card may be the better route — see Visa and Mastercard. PayPal is the other common e-wallet. All methods are compared on the payments overview, and the payout process on withdrawal.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some bonuses exclude Skrill deposits?
Operators often exclude e-wallets to reduce bonus abuse, because wallets make it easy to move money between many accounts. Whether a specific offer excludes Skrill is written in its bonus terms.
Is Skrill available in every country?
No. Skrill and the casino both restrict where wallet gambling payments are possible. If Skrill is not in your cashier, it is not offered for your account.
Does Skrill charge fees?
Skrill has its own fee schedule, for example for currency conversion, loading the wallet or moving money to a bank. Check it in your Skrill account before larger transactions.
Can I withdraw to Skrill if I deposited by card?
Often not directly. Many cashiers return funds to the method used for the deposit first. The withdrawal form shows which routes are open for your account.
