Table games at Platiin: small rule changes, big differences
Digital table games are the camera-free versions of the casino classics: roulette, blackjack, baccarat and casino poker variants, with results produced by a random number generator. They are quick, often have a demo mode and usually allow lower stakes than live tables. For anyone reading bonus terms, they are also the games most likely to appear in the sections on weighting and prohibited play. Which table games Platiin lists is visible in its lobby; this page explains the mechanics behind those rules.
Rule variants that move the house edge
Two tables with the same name can have different long-run maths. A few examples of what to check in the rules screen:
| Game | Variant detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Roulette | One zero or two zeros | The extra zero roughly doubles the house edge |
| Blackjack | Blackjack pays 3:2 or 6:5 | The lower payout makes the game noticeably more expensive |
| Blackjack | Dealer hits or stands on soft 17, doubling rules | Small shifts that add up over many hands |
| Baccarat | Commission on banker bets; tie payout | The tie bet usually carries a high edge |
None of these tells you which variant you will find in a given lobby; the rules screen of each game does.
Why table games are weighted low
Some table bets have a very small house edge. If they counted in full towards wagering, a bonus could be cleared at almost no expected cost. That is why many terms weight table games at a small percentage, often in the range of 5 to 20%, or exclude them. A low weighting does not make the game itself worse; it only makes it a slow tool for clearing a bonus.
Low-risk betting: what it looks like
Bonus terms usually include a clause on low-risk, irregular or abusive play. The idea is always the same: generating turnover while taking almost no risk. A simple illustration shows why operators prohibit it:
- You stake €5 on red and €5 on black in the same roulette round.
- Turnover recorded: €10.
- Outcome: the winning bet returns €10 (your €5 plus €5), the losing one costs €5 — net €0, unless zero lands, in which case you lose both bets.
- Over 100 rounds you would record €1,000 of turnover while losing only on the zeros.
Worked example — not a Platiin term. Example in euros; the maths is the same in any currency.
Other patterns that terms commonly name: covering most numbers on a roulette layout, betting player and banker together in baccarat, and switching between very small and maximum stakes to exploit the weighting. Breaking these rules can lead to the bonus and related winnings being removed. Our bonus terms guide explains how to find the clause and how it is usually worded.
A cleaner approach
Two simple options avoid most problems. Either clear a bonus on slots that are weighted in full and play table games afterwards with real money, or decline the bonus and enjoy table games without any wagering attached. In both cases, the low edge of some table bets works in your favour rather than against the terms. The weighting maths is set out in full on our wagering page.
Demo and budget
Digital tables often have a demo mode — useful for learning the betting layout and the speed of play without risking money. Digital rounds are fast, so set a limit in rounds: for example 60 hands of blackjack at €1. The live versions of these games are on our live casino page; slots are under slots and on the games hub.
