Live casino at Platiin: real dealers, different rules

Live casino games are streamed from a studio where a real dealer spins the roulette wheel, deals the cards or hosts a game show, while you place bets through an on-screen interface. They feel closer to a physical casino than any digital game. They also come with their own set of bonus rules, because the economics of live tables differ from slots. Which live tables Platiin offers is shown in its live lobby; this page explains the formats and the points where a bonus and a live table collide.

Live formats in brief

Main bets and side bets

Many live tables offer side bets next to the main game — on pairs, on specific card combinations or on bonus multipliers. They pay large multiples, which makes them tempting, but they usually carry a noticeably higher house edge than the main bet. The info panel of each table lists the side bets and their payouts. If you use them, treat them as a separate, more expensive game.

Live games and wagering requirements

Bonus terms often weight live games at a low percentage or exclude them entirely. The reason is the low edge of some main bets: a bonus cleared at a fraction of a percent house edge would cost the player almost nothing. The effect on you is a much longer road:

€70010%€7,0003,500
€7005%€14,0007,000

Worked example — not a Platiin term. Example in euros; the maths is the same in any currency.

At around one round per minute, 3,500 rounds is close to sixty hours at the table. In practice, live play with an active bonus rarely makes sense unless the terms weight it generously. Our wagering guide shows the full calculation.

Table minimums and the bet cap

Every live table has a minimum and a maximum stake. If the minimum stake is above the maximum bet allowed by your bonus, even the smallest possible bet breaks the rules. Another trap: some terms count the total of all bets in one round — main bet plus side bets — against the cap. Read the cap's wording in the bonus terms before sitting down.

Irregular play at live tables

Covering both outcomes of an even-money bet, such as red and black in the same round, or player and banker in baccarat, is a classic example of what bonus terms call low-risk or irregular betting. It produces turnover with almost no risk, and that is exactly why it is usually prohibited while a bonus is active. Breaches can lead to the bonus and its winnings being removed.

Pace and budget

Live rounds run on a fixed rhythm without a pause button. Plan in rounds rather than minutes: 45 rounds at €2 is €90 of stakes, which can pass in under an hour. Deposit limits and reality checks help keep that visible; see responsible gambling. Camera-free versions of the classics are on our table games page, and reel games under slots and on the games hub.

Frequently asked questions

Why do live games count so little towards wagering?
Some live bets carry a very small house edge, which would let players clear bonuses at almost no cost. Operators therefore often weight live games at a low percentage or exclude them.
Are side bets a good idea?
Side bets pay large multiples but usually carry a higher house edge than the main bet. Check their rules and payouts in the table's info panel before using them.
Can I watch a live table without betting?
Many live tables let you join and watch a few rounds before placing a bet. Live games rarely have a demo mode, so watching is the closest equivalent.
