Reload bonus: deposit offers after the welcome package
Once the welcome bonus is used up, many casinos keep existing players interested with reload offers — a match on a later deposit, a weekly reload on a fixed day, a second deposit bonus inside a welcome package, or a time-limited deposit bonus tied to a new game. The mechanics are the same as for a welcome match, but the context is different: you are no longer deciding whether to try a casino, you are deciding whether to deposit again. That makes the decision more personal and the risk of habit higher. This page explains how reload terms typically read and how to judge one quickly (example amounts are in euros; the maths is the same in any currency). Platiin's current reload offers, if any, are listed on the operator's promotions page.
Four kinds of reload
| Type | Trigger | Typical feature |
|---|---|---|
| Second / third deposit bonus | Next deposits after the first | Part of the welcome package, own terms |
| Weekly reload | A deposit on a set day | Smaller match, recurring |
| Personal reload | Offer sent by email or in the account | Individual percentage or cap |
| Event reload | A new release or a seasonal promotion | Match plus spins on one slot |
Reload terms to read
- Minimum deposit: the qualifying amount, and whether it must be one payment.
- Match and cap: the percentage and the largest bonus available.
- Multiplier and base: the decisive line, as always — see wagering requirements.
- Deadline: reloads often have shorter windows than welcome offers.
- Stacking: what happens if another bonus is still running.
- Opt-in: automatic, tick box or code — see promo codes.
Worked example: a weekly 40% reload
You deposit €150 on the reload day and receive 40%, so €60 of bonus. Two versions of the terms:
| Line | Version 1 | Version 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Multiplier | 15x bonus | 30x bonus + deposit |
| Required stakes | €900 | €6,300 |
| Expected loss at 4% | €36 | €252 |
| Average result | +€24 | −€192 |
| Deadline 7 days: stakes per day | about €129 | €900 |
Worked example — not a Platiin term. The 4% edge assumes slots with about 96% RTP.
Same percentage, opposite verdict. Version 2 also asks for €900 of stakes per day, which for most players means much longer sessions than planned — exactly the reason to decline.
Second deposit bonus vs. no bonus
A useful comparison is not reload versus another reload, but reload versus playing the same deposit with no bonus at all. Without a bonus you keep every win immediately, have no max bet and no game restrictions. With a reload you gain extra balance but accept turnover and rules. If the average result from the calculation above is small or negative, playing without it is simply better. If it is clearly positive and the pace per day fits your normal play, take it.
Reload terms that differ from the welcome offer
Do not assume that a reload copies the welcome bonus rules. Reloads are more likely to use the deposit plus bonus as the wagering base, to set a shorter deadline and to list more excluded payment methods. Some apply only to the first deposit made on the reload day, so a second top-up the same day earns nothing. Others are personal: two players can see different percentages for the same weekday offer. Read each reload as a new set of terms, and check the bonus section of your account after the deposit to confirm what was actually credited.
A note on habits
Weekly reloads are designed to make depositing a routine. If you notice you deposit because it is "reload day" rather than because you planned to, set a weekly deposit limit and consider switching promotional emails off. Our responsible gambling page lists the tools. Other recurring offers worth comparing with reloads are cashback and VIP programmes; back to the bonus overview.
